Jennifer Allen, is a self-taught artist with a love of drawing characterful face ‘warts and all’. This usually, but not always, means older faces, the type where every crease and wrinkle has something to say. She also likes to draw musical instruments, old hands but considers anything which tells a story as potential inspiration,
Using a white pencil, black paper, an eraser for shading and endless time and patience, she captures that element of a person’s essence she finds most engaging, a moment in time or a particular mood.
Like most people she started to draw as a very young child and her words ‘the only difference is, I never stopped’.
