Elizabeth O’Kane is a sculptor and painter, originally from Northern Ireland, now working in
Dublin. Her work follows the realist tradition. Her sculptures are figurative and focus on anatomy,
portraiture, and movement. She works in bronze and stone.
Her watercolours are strongly architectural, delicately painted onto carefully drafted
drawings. Detailed cityscapes set in strong sunlight and bold shadows offer a sculptural,
photorealist style.
Originally a French translator, travel is a recurrent theme. Over a twenty year career Elizabeth
has exhibited at the Royal Ulster Academy and the Royal Hibernian Academy of Art (where she won
the RHA Conor/Moran Sculpture Award) and has been an invited artist at both. She is a member of
The Art Students League of New York, the Water Colour Society of Ireland and the Ulster
Watercolour Society.
Elizabeth’s work can be found in various public and private collections, including The Irish Embassy
in Washington DC, The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, The National Library of Ireland,
The National Concert Hall, University of Limerick, University College Dublin and Shannon Airport.
