Rainbow Seahorse

My ceramic fish wall sculptures are inspired by the beautiful and captivating forms and colours of living fish. Some are based on tropical fish, others on the fascinating species to be found right here around the shores of Ireland. In our studio by Kinsale fish swim past the bottom of our garden. I shape every piece by hand and paint every piece with its own specially mixed and layered glazes. Each piece is unique. For thousands of years fish have been seen as symbolising happiness, freedom, the life force, good luck, one-ness and faithfulness, abundance, creativity. I use their dynamic forms and vibrant, life-enhancing colours to create a sense of joie-de-vivre.
