Josephine Geaney graduated from Limerick School of Art and Design in 2008 with an Honours Degree in Fine Art Painting. Since graduating she has added Printmaking and Photography to her work practice, specialising in the mediums of mono printing and silk screen printing pulled together with the practice of painting. While at LSAD Josephine received Awards from the Hunt Museum, Revenue Commissioners, shortlisted for the “RDS Students Art award”, the “Rose Project” at the Lab, “Cosc”and RDS Travelling Exhibition.
During her professional practice She obtained Awards such as: “The Tipp.fm bursary”, Tipperary County Council Bursary to the Tyrone Guthrie, Tipp FM Arts and Entertainment Award, Tyrone Guthrie Residencies ,Tipperary Arts Office support for Artists Tipperary County Council Purchase awards.
Open Exhibitions: The Source Thurles, The Lab Dublin, Hunt Museum, EVA, Oscailt Nenagh, Toronto International Art Fair, Adams Auctions, Sol Art Dublin, Eigse Carlow, The Lavitt Cork and Limerick Printmakers.
Solo Exhibitions: “Crossing the Divide” Hunt Museum (2009) “Into the Abyss” Ennistymon Courthouse Gallery (2009),” Between Spaces” Normoyle Frawley (2010). In 2014 Signal Arts, Birr Theatre, Ennistymon Courthouse, Quay Arts and The Hunt Museum Print Exhibition. 2017 “Beginning, End and the Journey” at the Toradh Gallery, Co. Meath.
Josephine’s work is on display in Permanent Collections at: University of Limerick, Department of Defence, Revenue Commissioners, Hunt Museum, Tipperary County Council, Law Society of Ireland and Private Collections Nationally and Internationally.
She is currently a member of the Limerick Printmakers.
